Chopped Spinach

Spinach is known for its high levels of Iron as well as many other vitamins and minerals making it a very nutritious vegetable. Shana Spinach may be used immediately from frozen, making them a tidy and convenient way of enjoying the vegetables at its best.

Our vegetables and fruits are frozen close to the time of harvest to ensure they retain a higher level of vitamins and nutrients. Absolutely no water is added during the IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) process, providing you with nature’s best.

Recipe : Spinach Saag

 

Ingredients

  • 300 g Shana Spinach
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 2 tsp. Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp. Oil
  • 2 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1 can Tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp. Plain Yogurt
  • 1  1/4 tsp.  Curry Powder
  • 1  1/2  tsp. Ground Coriander
  • Pinch Cumin Powder
  • 3/4 tsp. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup Water

 

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan and add onion, ginger and garam masala. Saute until onions are translucent.
  • Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then, add tomatoes and cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Stir in yogurt and then add curry powder, coriander, cumin, sugar and salt.
  • Add Shana Spinach and mix well. Then, add water and cover to simmer in medium heat for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and cook off any remaining liquid. Puree the Spinach using blender or food processor. Leave it as chunky as you like. Add salt to taste.
